Volunteer Night Success

Thank you for taking the time to attend our Cayman Animal Rescue Enthusiasts ('CARE') meeting. We are really excited to have you on board!!

As we mentioned at our meeting, we are in the process of planning a few events during the next couple of months. From a fundraising perspective, we are in the final stages of planning a Pub Quiz night. We are also planning to hold a Dog Wash in East End during September. We will send out more information, once the plans have been finalized.

We have made note of your interested areas for volunteering and will be contacting you again shortly with regard to those specific areas. In the meantime, if you have any ideas, questions or see opportunities where CARE can help, please feel free to contact us via email or at 938-CARE.

Thanks again for your time and welcome to CARE.

Another Successful New York Puppy Transfer

Photo of dog:

On Wednesday the 26th of August, CARE successfully organised for 2 puppies to go to New York. The puppies are to be adopted out by North Shore Animal League - the world's largest no kill shelter. An update received from NSAL:

"They came in just fine. They have already been seen by the vet. They are a couple of cute ones and very friendly. They should go home this weekend.

Thanks Again"

Spare Change Update

Hello All,

We just want to say a huge thank you to all for taking the time to help collect the coins for Apollo. We have had a count recenlty and so far we have raised approximately $2,450.00 CI which is absolutely fantastic. When you think that with little effort so much can be raised in just over a week, it is pretty amazing.

Apollo is doing really really well and now lives full time with his new family who have adopted him. He still has a way to go and needs to have a dressing change every other day and be monitored by the vet and unfortunately he will always have to be very careful when out in the sun, but his determination to survive speaks volumes to us and is a shining example as to why we so dearly love these four-legged friends.

There has been a huge public outpouring of support for Apollo for which we thank you. If there are any funds left from this drive, they will be put in a separate account at Island Vets for other similar welfare cases. Unfortunately these do arise all too often.

For those that still have coins out there please do let us know so we can arrange collection. We did run out of counting bags last night so will be doing another count soon.

Last, but by no means least, to those brave souls that came to the yellow room and counted all of those coins, raisins and whatever else we found in the pots, yesterday evening....THANK YOU, we could not have done it without you.
